I feel bad for the dust players on PS3. All their time is basically now wasted. Just a pity that they cut of the Q&A session after the keynote. Woulda had beeing hillarious if the dust players lynched the dev on stage.
And lol people thinking that this will actually do any good. There are so many FPS titles on PC and it directly has to compete with planetside 2. I predict a massive player drop on the PS3 after this "keynote". You cant even barely call that a keynote, they just advertised dust for PC and thats it. poor performance compared to last years keynote if ya ask me. |

To be honest what they showed at the keynote barely had better graphics then dust on PS3. And i wonder how long CCP will take to actually port it over to PC. Didnt they mentioned it somewhat around a year? I would be more interested in those things:
-can the dust toons be taken from the PS3 to the PC? (cause its still TQ server i suppose)
-will assets, ISK and SP be wiped?
-What will the buisness modell be? (F2P, subscription or retail release)
-if its going to be sub based will it aswell be allowed to extend the sub by buying PLEX? (same market i suppose)
-is the PS3 Dust variant maybe used for cross play? (PC-PS3?)
Im kinda dissapointed by CCP that they are not releasing more information about this. Im worried that they screw up like they did with WOD. As far as it goes CCP only delivered 1 single game that is successfull and thats Eve online. Everything else is subpar or a total desaster. |

As funny the dust forum is what would be if CCP woulda had sayd that they are plugging the server from Eve in a week on fanfest? Could you imagine the rage and killed devs on the stage? Some of the Dusties actually invested alot of time into the game. Nobody deserves to be treated like that. |

So where was the Dust514 content on the Dust514 keynote? I havent found anything apart from "yeah guys thanks for attention we just gonna ditch the PS3". And about the Eve/Dust is dying line:
better dieing as beeing aborted all together like WoD. |

Developers who delete feedback are usually scammers. And when i think back to the recent Plex sales and options to use them i believe something fishy is going on in eve.
Think about what happend with dust:
-they get motivated to spend money and then a few months later they get screwed over HARD.
Whats happening in eve:
-CCP motivates the community to buy plex which can be converted into AUR, additional trainain que etc. so that we can get the hands on the new ships which have beeing reskinned. Dont know about you guys but i feel worried that CCP could pull off another stunt like they did with Dust. |

Fixing by what? Putting another generic shoter on PC? Yeah well done. Crysis 1 looks better on PS3 then Dust/Legion does on PC. And i highly doubt that there will be enough players to fill all off the Eve universe battlefields. Just look at null sov as it is now, sure large alliances hold the biggest chunk of it but the population density is thinner then a piece of paper. And we still dont know about the buisness modell so far. What happends if Legion and Eve share the same subscription method and you can keep playing by buying plex? If that happends plex prices will explode beyond the 2bill mark. |

lol you are delusional. Go ahead and fly trough nullsec and count the people living there. Its not that hard to do cause most systems are empty. And ya know why they are empty? Because Eve is lacking the playerbase to fill them. You are the prime example of a CCP fanboy. |

Maybe but on the other hand i think the eve universe is too big for the small playerbase we have at the moment. Just look around in nullsec, its like wandering trough a desert and here and there you find a oasis but thats it. We have highsec, lowsec, nullsec and wormholes. We have more recources to farm then there is players to do it. |

Legion is not a sequal for dust. Its the end of the PS3 game and just a polished new variant which in the end plays exactly the same. If CCP woulda had sayd that this would be on PS4 and where you could keep your Dust514 char (because on PSN you can link your PS3 account) that would had made the Dust players much happier.
The guys who play on PS3 dont want to play on a PC with mouse and keyboard, they just want to relax on the couch and start playing when they feel like it. PC gamers are just way too hardcore in that aspect. Just look at our Eve community: you got those unworthy of existance living creatures who are enjoying to see others suffer (cough eroitca1 cough...). CCP should have stated their intentions before fanfest and not try to milk money from the players just to screw them over. Even a 5 year old could probs come up with a better PR then the person behind that desaster.
Seriously first they state some numbers about clones killed and ISK destroyed with a tribute vid from a DUST514 player and then they show what they are really working on, after that they promptly end the Keynote for Dust514. This is even false advertising for the programm for the fanfest. Last time i looked there was no note of a "EVE: Legion keynote". If i would be a dust player who went to the fanfest to learn more about the eve-dust connection i would probs demand my money back for the fanfest ticket. |

Well thats competition destroyed for eve players. if only 100 of the top Dust players will move to Legion then they wil havel a head start of like 50million SP+ (thats if Legion would start today). And we all know that FPS players only play with their lvl of skill. Gonna be interesting to see how a 0SP player (who's mainly a pilot) will hold up against Dust vets.

Sorry, for a moment there I thought you were talking about how some new players feel when they start in Eve and see all the vets with X skill points and knowledge of how the game works.
Well on dust you either have proto equipment or you get stomped. There is no other option to it. Noobs that show up in militia gear are getting instantly murdered by vets. it just doesnt matter how good you are when the guy you are shoting has like double or even tripple the HP then you got, he just turns around, shots you a couple of times and thats about it. Oh and if you see a hostile tank dont even bother cause your Anti Vehicle weapons dont even put a dent into that thing if you dont have them maxed out.
Dust has big balancing issues where only the vets truly rule over the game. Another thing is quite a decent amount of the dust players actually do use keyboard+mouse cause its supported on the PS3. So the shift from the PS3-PC wouldnt be to big of a problem. |

What does you guys make believe that microtransaction would vanish with the transition from Dust-Legion? It seemed like a profitable system for CCP so far. And you have to keep in mind that they tested this system now numerous times which works like this:
-anounce event that increases SP gain
-put SP boosters which double your SP gain on the market for AUR
-see crowds of people buying sayd booster to get the max out of the event.
This worked very well so far cause you can turn something like double SP event into a quad SP event for you if you buy a advertised SP booster from CCP. Same goes for Dropsuits, weapons etc. You could buy that stuff aswell for AUR and it was avaible at a lower skill lvl. You seriously think CCP would give up a cow that they could milk forever? Just look at the dust forums, some people there spent like 600$ on that F2P game. |
